We Are Golden

October 2, 2016:

Dr. Mark Yount

So much depends on how we see ourselves – our view of human nature, and of our own potential.  Let others debate origins and end times, this life offers contrast enough to set us wondering who we might be.  In my peak experiences I am golden; in the pits, leaden.  Can we accomplish in our lives what the alchemists could not in their laboratories?  Can we turn our leaden selves into gold?

Dr. Mark Yount:

Since joining BBUUC in 1997, Dr. Mark Yount has given over 70 sermons, chaired committees, served on the Board, and served as Youth Adviser. Mark taught philosophy at Trinity College (Hartford), St. Joseph’s (Philadelphia), and Jacksonville University. He has degrees in Philosophy from William and Mary (BA), Villanova (MA), and University of Colorado at Boulder (PhD). Mark works with Mental Health America of NE FL, helping homeless/at-risk people apply for disability benefits.
