Creative Steps to Self-Recovery

Chris Repass presents

“Creative Steps to Self-Recovery”

Worship Leader: Grace Repass
Accompanist: Eileen Morrison
Special Music: Goliath Flores

About Our Service:

Through his personal journey creating porcelain artwork and undergoing a shattering experience three years ago, Chris explores how the lessons he’s learned during his artistic pursuits can help all of us process and overcome challenging experiences in life.

About Our Speaker:

Chris Repass is an artist living in Asheville and Raleigh, North Carolina. He has been a humor columnist, marketing writer, photographer, and ceramic artist while paying most of his bills as a technical manager with IBM. Currently, he channels his love for technology, cats, and daffodils into pop art porcelain plates and tiles. He gave a reading at BBUUC in June about art in religion and investing your soul in your creative work, and now he’s back to talk about what happens when part of that soul is crushed.

About Our Guest Musician:

Goliath Flores is a diverse vocalist, singer/songwriter, and a Classical and Flamenco guitarist. He’s a cross-genre recording artist and performer whose releases run the gamut regarding musical styles. Currently, he’s gradually populating the internet with a “slow release album” (Meaning that songs are released one at a time) titled Binary Love (Songs About Technology and Pretension). Goliath Flores’ works also include the music to the film California Winter (2013), a feature film about the 2008 housing crisis, a self-titled album Goliath Flores, and he has produced music for other artists in far-reaching genres.
