Special Music by The Melodears

As Valentine’s Day looms, we will examine America’s fetishization of romantic love and consider the power of embracing rejection.

About our speaker:

Phillip Baber is the former pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Jacksonville. He is also a former co-president of I.C.A.R.E., the Jacksonville-based Interfaith Coalition for Action, Reconciliation, and Empowerment. Phillip’s ministry is dedicated to the advancement of our collective liberation, leading him to advocate in support of criminal justice reform, police accountability, racial and economic justice, justice for refugees and immigrants, and LGBTQIA+ rights. Phillip’s faith calls him to boldly declare that Black Lives Matter, No Human is Illegal, and Women’s Rights are Human Rights.

About our special musicians:

Linda Crawford, Eileen Morrison and Ellen Miceli comprise the Melodears.   Linda has been singing, solo and in groups, since she was a little girl. She is delighted to have found two lovely and talented musicians to perform with.

Eileen has been singing and playing the piano since she was in third grade. It is so comforting and inspiring for her to find others who share her love of music. Her most recent career is being a Realtor.

Ellen accompanies the group. She started playing piano at age 8.  She feels fortunate to have found a way to feed her spirit as an accompanist and enjoys being part of this trio.
