The Spaces Around Us

Jennifer Odenwald Bacmeister
“The Spaces Around Us”

Worship Leader: Caitlin Regan
Accompanist: Dr. Gary Smart
Guest Musician: George Mann

An exploration of the spaces around us, both literal and figurative. Come and examine how we build spaces to include and exclude, how we use space to both hide and project, and how becoming aware of spaces can improve our well-being.

About our Speaker:

Jennifer has been a member of BBUUC for almost 20 years.  A newlywed, she celebrated her marriage to Jerry Bacmeister on Halloween of 2019. She has served as Vice President, Worship Committee Chair, and Building Task Force Chair; she has been a Religious Education teacher and occasional musician for services. Her favorite thing to do is be a Worship Leader, and truly delights in creating meaningful and enjoyable services for some of her favorite people – the BBUUC congregation!

Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, holds a Florida General Contractors License, and is a certified Project Management Professional.  She works for JEA as a construction manager.  Jennifer is an active member of Toastmasters and serves as the President of her club. In what spare time she has, Jennifer enjoys home renovation projects, sewing, tending her chickens and spoiling her two grandsons.

About our Guest Musician:

George Mann hails from New York and has been producing labor and protest music for more than 20 years. He has worked with and produced albums featuring such folk music legends as Utah Phillips, Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton and produced national tours of the US and Australia in honor of the Almanac Singers (2013) and Joe Hill (2015). George brings his experience as a union organizer and educator to his concerts– stories and songs about real events and the struggle for a better life. He has just released “For the Road and the Sky,” his newest CD, and “Until You Come Home: Songs to Heal the Wounds of War,” a compilation CD of songs about the effects of war on those who serve.
